Idyllic Aegean: 8 Day Cruise

This 8-day Greek cruise takes you throughout the Aegean Sea to picturesque islands like Mykonos, Milos, Santorini, and Crete.

Your Greece vacation begins in the port of Piraeus, which is the main port for the capital, Athens. In Piraeus you’ll board the Celestyal Olympia, a cruise ship that’s fully equipped with all the amenities of a modern hotel. The Celestyal Olympia will take you throughout the Aegean Sea, showcasing the beauty of the Greek Islands. When you’re not on excursions to the islands, you’ll be able to enjoy the five bars, three restaurants, two lounges, and other on-board features.

First stop on your Greece cruise is Mykonos, the thumping heartbeat of the Cyclades. The island is second-to-none when it comes to nightlife, but it’s also full of high-end restaurants and stunning views that’ll satisfy even more sedate travellers. Continue on to Milos, which beguiles travellers with its gorgeous beaches, volcanic landscape, and quaint fishing villages. Take advantage of the great seafood restaurants to be found here or find a pristine beach to spend the afternoon on, swimming and suntanning.

Next stop is Santorini, the magical island home to whitewashed houses, windswept cliffs, and picture-perfect bliss. You can stroll along the 300m-high cliffs towering over the ocean or enjoy the romantic atmosphere of the island’s charming towns. The island is also home to the Minoan ruins of Akrotiri, one of the country’s best archaeological sites.

Continue along to the island of Crete and the city of Heraklion, the fifth largest in Greece. You can survey the walls of Koules Fortress, visit world-class museums like the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, and explore the Palace of Knossos. When you’re not exploring history, take advantage of the island’s golden beaches, thumping nightclubs, and famous Cretan dishes.

Your final stop in the Aegean Sea is the Turkish port of Kusadasi, known as the gateway to Ephesus and home to a sprawling bazaar full of authentic souvenirs and crafts. Spend some time shopping the bazaar and heading from café to café to soak up the culture of this ancient port. You’ll then return to Piraeus to disembark and end your Greek cruise.
