3 NIGHTS ROME & 3 NIGHTS FLORENCE
According to Mark Twain, “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.” While Monograms can’t help you write a book, hike up Mount Everest, or swim across the English Channel, we can make sure you do one of your dreams—travel to Italy! That’s why on this Italy vacation package, we’ve arranged your hotel accommodations, sightseeing, daily breakfast, high-speed train connection between Rome and Florence, and transfers from/to your hotels & train stations. Plus, Rome and Florence have so much to offer that it can be hard knowing where to start. That’s why we’ve arranged the services of a Local Host® in both cities, a local expert to offer suggestions, answer questions, and ensure your vacation is all you want it to be.
Your Italy trip begins as soon as you arrive in Rome, where we can seamlessly whisk you from the airport to your selected hotel. Here, your Local Host will welcome you with a hearty benvenuto and present you with a destination guide to acquaint you with the city. The next morning, after included breakfast, we’ll pick you up at your hotel for guided sightseeing with a local expert, who will share inside stories around the must-see sights such as the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Sistine Chapel, and more. The VIP access offered by Monograms means you’ll spend more time visiting the sights rather than waiting in long lines! In Florence, where you’ll take an escorted walk with a Certified Local Guide, you’ll stand in awe of Michelangelo’s famous David statue and admire the medieval Ponte Vecchio.
You’ll also have time to explore Rome and Florence on your own. In Rome, you may want to visit the catacombs, throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain, shop at the famous fashion boutiques, or take an Italian cooking class. In Florence, sip Chianti wine at a Tuscan restaurant; explore the Uffizi Gallery, with art work collected by the Medici family; take an excursion to Pisa to see the famous Leaning Tower; or experience Florence by night on a guided walking tour. Your Local Hosts can help arrange excursions and will have plenty of suggestions for shopping, restaurants, and more.
Don’t delay…Rome and Florence are waiting for you. We’ve handled all the stressful parts of travel—making the reservations, purchasing the train tickets, getting you to/from the train stations, finding local experts who can really give you an insider’s view of the cities, and more. All you have to do is cross Rome and Florence off your list of things to do, and enjoy this wonderful Italy trip!

Itinerary
Benvenuto – welcome! Your Local Host is on hand to help you create lasting memories in the “Eternal City”.
Your morning guided sightseeing, with headset, is rich in religious and ancient history. Visit the VATICAN MUSEUMS to see amazing treasures. In the SISTINE CHAPEL, where the Conclave is held to elect new popes, view Michelangelo’s The Last Judgment and his famous ceiling paintings. Also on the agenda today, enter monumental ST. PETER’S SQUARE and BASILICA, built in 313 AD above St. Peter the Apostle’s tomb and home to Michelangelo’s masterpiece Renaissance sculpture, the Pietà. Cross the Tiber River and continue your immersion in history at the iconic COLOSSEUM, built for 50,000 spectators, and the ROMAN FORUM, where the oldest structures of the ancient city are located. (Please note the Vatican Museum is closed on Wednesdays and Sundays, therefore your included guided sightseeing will be moved to an alternate day. Please be aware of this variation if making independent arrangements for your time at leisure.)
A full day at leisure to enjoy a variety of activities—your Local Host will have suggestions that might include a visit to Gianicolo Hill for the best views of Rome.
Travel to Florence by HIGH-SPEED TRAIN (first class).
Morning guided sightseeing, with headset, includes a visit of the ACADEMY OF FINE ARTS with Michelangelo’s original David (the Academy is replaced with the Duomo Museum on Mondays and on the first Sunday of each month). Walk through Piazza del Duomo; sculpture-studded Piazza della Signoria, the center of the city’s political life since the 14th century; and Santa Croce Square. Also admire medieval Ponte Vecchio, the arched, stone merchant bridge spanning the Arno River.
Your Local Host has many ideas to help you enjoy this splendid Renaissance city: visit bustling Mercato Centrale, dedicated to Tuscan cuisine; or stroll through the church of Santa Maria Novella, an architectural jewel.
Your vacation ends with breakfast this morning.
